Video and Photo Policy

At Al-Itqan Academy, we value the privacy and consent of our students, teachers, and staff members. This Video and Photo Policy outlines our commitment to safeguarding the privacy rights of individuals and ensuring compliance with Australian regulations, including the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). It also clarifies the procedures for addressing any concerns or grievances related to the use of photos and videos taken during Academy-related activities.
Policy Compliance with Australian Regulations
Consent: By enrolling in or working at Al-Itqan Academy, individuals provide implied consent for the use of photos and videos taken during Academy-related activities. However, this consent is not indefinite and can be revoked at any time as outlined below.
Notification: Prior to taking photos or videos, we will provide notice to individuals to ensure they are aware of the intended use. This aligns with APP 5, which mandates that individuals should be aware of how their personal information is collected and used.
Data Security: We will take all necessary measures to protect the security of the photos and videos, complying with APP 11, which stipulates that organizations must take reasonable steps to safeguard personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorized access, modification, or disclosure.

Procedure for Revoking Consent

Any student, teacher, or staff member who wishes not to have their photos or videos used for any public purposes, including on our website and social media platforms, must inform us in writing through our official email addresses. This written request will be treated with utmost respect and acted upon promptly.

Handling Concerns and Grievances

  1. Any concerns or grievances related to this policy must first be communicated to us in writing. We are committed to resolving issues internally and in an amicable manner. This approach aligns with APP 1, which emphasizes the importance of open and transparent management of personal information.
  1. If an issue cannot be resolved satisfactorily within the Academy, individuals are encouraged to seek mediation or resolution through appropriate channels within the organization.
  1. The involvement of third parties or legal action should only be considered after exhausting internal avenues for resolution, as this approach is in compliance with the policy and the spirit of protecting the privacy rights of our community.

Al-Itqan Academy is dedicated to protecting the privacy rights of our students, teachers, and staff members while maintaining compliance with Australian privacy regulations. We are committed to transparency, respect for individual choices, and the prompt resolution of any concerns or grievances related to the use of photos and videos. This policy ensures that the interests of all parties are upheld while fostering a sense of security and trust within our educational community.
