Our project
Alhamdulillah, the new masjid project is progressing well, with key approvals already in place. The site has been granted a town planning permit for a Place of Worship, and we are currently awaiting the outcome of an amendment under consideration. In our last meeting with the council on February 5th, they expressed some concerns regarding the overall size of the project and requested revisions to reduce the building footprint. We remain optimistic, and inshaAllah, we hope to reach a resolution soon. Our goal is to ensure that the masjid serves the needs of the community while adhering to planning requirements.
InshaAllah, if we receive the final permit by the end of April, construction documentation can begin immediately, allowing site preparation to commence this year. However, this will largely depend on community support and funding. The masjid will be more than just a place of prayer—it will include an education center with classrooms, a cafeteria and social space, a library, administrative offices, a mother’s room, and an Imam’s residence. While we have design blueprints and site maps, adjustments may be necessary to accommodate council feedback. With the will of Allah and the support of our community, this project will soon become a reality, serving as a center of worship, learning, and connection for generations to come.
